The axe has finally fallen on medium pacers Ishant Sharma and Vinay Kumar following their pedestrian bowling against the Aussies. The Selectors have replaced the duo with Mumbai’s Dhawal Kulkarni and Chennai Super Kings’ swing bowler Mohit Sharma. Dhawal Kulkarni, who has a strange bowling action, is a steady seamer who is capable of moving the ball quite well. The 24-year-old was selected in the Indian test team on their New Zealand tour in 2009 but is yet to make his international debut.

The Selectors have retained their faith in southpaw Yuvraj Singh who flopped in all the matches of the Australia ODI Series recently. Yuvraj though had a match-winning knock in the Only T20I ahead of the 7-match ODI Series. India plays three ODIs against the West Indies which begins on the 21st of this month.

India Squad for West Indies Series: MS Dhoni (Captain and Wicket Keeper), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ambati Rayudu, Amit Mishra, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mohit Sharma
